Jemima Joèl Brady is a griot, a storyteller, an interdisciplinary artist from New Orleans, Louisiana. She has a social practice that is dedicated to telling stories about the experiences of Black American Southerners. She tells these stories from different mediums such as singing, songwriting, painting, sewing, creative writing, oral history collections, archival displays, installations and community programming. Her work is dedicated to the ongoing practice of historical preservation and using different storytelling mediums to capture physical memory.
